Angelstar are now booking weddings for 2010.

I hope this will put an end to the rumours and the absolute nonsense going around that we are breaking up.

Angelstar have recorded and mixed their very own version of Beyonce's smash hit Halo.

Klone records have already stated their interest in the mix and are hoping to release it on one of their future compilations.

Almost 3 years after Angelstar recorded their very own dance mix of Somebody Told Me two top remixers have now remixed the track which features vocals from Angelstar's Frank Gormanley. Angelstar's version already reached an impressive no.18 in the Soundclick cover songs chart and is now sure to hit Clubland in 2009 with a remix from SND project. Additionally Scotalnd's Andy Haldane has also produced a more mellow Energy/House version of the track. The involvement of Andy was certainly a blast from the past as many of our more mature dance music lovers may well remember him as the main producer/engineer at Apollo Studios in Glasgow during the early and mid 90s. He was also involved in the recording and production of many great Scottish techno artists such as TTF, Ultrasonic, The Rhythmic State and the list goes on and on.

Breaking News !!!!

Angelstar's Cheryl Barnes is featured on the December 08 CD Pool compliation CD.

Her stunning vocals for All I Want For Christmas have been remixed by Starlab who others may well know as 7th Heaven Productions and Almighty.

The producers were the team behind Cher's Believe in the late 90s.

The double CD compilation also features tracks form Will Young, Madonna, Brandy, The Sugababes and Basshunter.

Breaking news has emerged that German dance producers 'Boogie Pimps' are scheduled to remix Steve Brookstein's latest track which features backing vocals from Angelstar's Cheryl Barnes. Over the past 5 years 'Boogie Pimps' have became a huge name in the world of remixing since their worldwide smash hit "Somebody to Love" which reached #3 in the UK charts in 2003.

Angelstar's Cheryl Barnes has been recruited to record backing vocals for former X-Factor winner Steve Brookstien. Steve, who currently has the lead role in the musical 'Our House' has recently decided to try his hand at dance music and thinks that Cheryl's vocals can help him in his quest for a fresh sound. 4 years after his X-Factor conquest Steve is making a comeback since being shelved by Sony BMG after a major bust up with Simon Cowell when he was told he would only ever be a cover version artist.

Cheryl has recorded her vocals for two tracks which will be released on D6 Records over the coming months. Angelstar would like to wish Steve all the best with his pending projects.

Angelstar's live and loud gig in Hurlford Community Centre was a complete sell out and a great night for all. The band thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would like to personally thank everyone who attended for their support with this new venture. Angelstar's Frank was ecstatic after the gig,

         "It’s wonderful to perform in the company of so many familiar and friendly faces who genuinely appreciate what we do as a band ".

In particular Angelstar would like to thank Maureen Hamilton and everyone involved with the Thistle Bar in Hurlford. (Scotland's pub of the year) There is no doubt that their kind support and professional commitment was instrumental to the success of the night.

On Sunday 19th August Tom Lowe joined Angelstar whilst performing at the wedding reception of Denise Collins at the "Dazeil Park Hotel" in Motherwell. The former "North and South" star stunned the Dazeil park audience by turning up as a surprise guest and performing some classic hits alongside Angelstar. The happy couple were deleighted to have him at their wedding and were left speechless after hearing Tom's very own version of the "Take That" classic "Back for Good".

Tom himself had never attended a Scottish wedding before and found the whole experience highly enjoyable. Furthermore, he then spent the next 3 days at Angelstar's recording studio recording and co-writing original material with Angelstar's Cheryl Barnes. Speaking about his time in Scotalnd Tom said,

" I absolutely love Scotland and I am really excited about the songs Cheryl and I are working on. Everyone is so friendly here and I can't beleive the amount of people who spoke to me and said they remember me from American Idol last year"

Angelstar’s Cheryl Barnes reached the final 50 of the over 25’s age group on X-Factor. Unfortunately she will not be progressing any further in the competition. Nevertheless, getting so far is still a great achievement when you consider there were over 250,000 entrants this year, 9,000 in Glasgow alone. This could have been a major break for Cheryl so everyone is very disappointed but still very proud. Cheryl has taken the news very well and is desperate to move on to some new music projects, in Cheryl’s words:

 

               “I don’t regret entering X-Factor, I sang my best at boot camp, overcame my nerves and I certainly did not let myself down. I’ve also made some new friends in the process who are already keeping in touch and sending me emails and texts. I’m glad to be home with my family and we have quite a successful band here in Angelstar so this is by no means the end of the world.”

 

Be ready to tune into the show as there may well be footage of Cheryl’s X-factor experience. This may include a hilarious version of “Staying Alive“ , a fantastic interview for Cheryl with TV celebrity Fern Cotton and footage of her auditions in front of the judges. Unfortunately no one can tell what footage will be shown. Also there may well be further press coverage as Cheryl in the future. So watch out!!!!

 

As far as Angelstar goes business continues as normal. This news has no bearing at all on any of the bands current or future commitments. There is no need to re-confirm any pending dates. Cheryl would like to thank all her close friends and family for their kind support throughout this roller coaster experience and is sorry she doesn’t have better news for them.

Angelstar have invested in a brand new concert PA system. The system is built arround 4 Pevey Qwave speakers the most sought after in the Pevey range and powered by 3 hi power amplifiers giving a total RMS power rating of 6KW. The system can also be readily cut down to 2KW using only 2 speakers for smaller venues. Angelstar have no doubt that this will bring hi quality audio to venues of capicity up to 1500 people.   

Angelstar's remix of "Somebody Told Me" reached a high of number 18 in the Soundclick Cover version charts. This is quite an acheivement as there are over 8,000 cover version tracks on Soundclick. The Club mix has done fairly well too reaching an all time high of number 50. Angelstar have just finished recording there very own Euro/Trance Remix of the "Killers" classic Somebody Told Me. Over the past few weeks the band have performed the song at their live gigs and were delighted with the response from the crowds, so delighted in fact that they decided to record the track properly with a view to possible release. Over the next few weeks Angelstar plan to hold talks with labels who specialize in dance remixes of popular songs. 

Angelstar have just returned from Thailand's infamous red light district of Pattaya and have officially declared the trip as a major success. As well as soaking up the sun and relaxing at the luxurious five star Dusit hotel, Angelstar also performed at a few live gigs and attended a professional photo shoot. The pinnacle was certainly Angelstar's performance at Tony's Disco (www.tonydisco.com) situated on the notorious "Walking Street" in Pattaya. The band performed alongside 8 professional Philippino dancers and put on a sensational show and had a crowd 2000 screaming and whistling for more. The crowd were of mixed nationality and race (Thai, Russian, American, European) and the whole night was a completely new experience for Angelstar. Club owner and entrepreneur Tony was delighted with the performance and has asked Angelstar to come back and play for 1 month exclusively at his club. The band will make a decision on the feasibility of this over the next coming months. Please see the pictures of the gig at Tony’s in the photo album.

In August Last year Angelstar's Marc Barnes produced a remix  for London based dance producer and singer Gaz Reynolds. (www.Gazworld.com) Marc's remix of Some Forgive was featured on the single which was released last November. Some forgive is now sitting at number 1 in the Euro-Nrg dance chart beating off the likes of  Madonna and Dani Minogue. Marc was extremely pleased when his remix received a play on next big hit radio, based in Hollywood. Due to the success of this single Gaz has just landed a 5 year record deal with Harlequin Records who also have signed major stars like Boy George.
